Radish Leaves and Chips Ingredients:

Optional Drizzle:

2 Tablespoons of Coconut Butter

1 Tablespoon of Coconut Oil

Gently melt on low heat together for 15 seconds and drizzle over leaves and radishes.

Radish Leaves Chips Ingredients:

Leaves of a Radish Bunch

Small Drizzle of Avocado or Human Friendly Oil (not canola or fake EVOO)

1/2 Teaspoon Salt

1/2 Teaspoon Various Spices (optional)

Herby spices work best

Directions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 200 to maintain enyzmes/nutrients or 300 for a ten minute quickie.
  2. Cut the leaves away from the radishes.
  3. Thoroughly rinse out the leaves of dirt. The human body does not like the taste of dirt so be thorough
  4. Dry the leaves with either a salad spinner or by vigorous shaking over the sink. If too much water remains the leaves will not chip up with the other leaves, but can be baked longer into chips.
  5. Cut the leaves and stems multiple times.
  6. Toss the leaves and stems into a bowl.
  7. Toss the leaves in a small drizzle of oil and salt (too much oil will prevent chipping).
  8. Spread the leaves out thoroughly onto a silpat lined baking sheet or a parchment lined sheet.
  9. Bake at 200 for one hour (checking at 45 minutes and every three minutes after) or 300 for ten minutes. Turn the chips at the halfway point.
  10. Take the leaves out of the oven and set aside.

Whipped Coconut Cream and Berries Hardened by Granola

Whipped Two

If you have leftover coconut whipped cream from the hangover smoothie I have the words on what to do with it.

I suddenly have become aware of all the words I’m using. Has it become too many?

I haven’t actually experimented with any aspect of what this whipped coconut cream can do in comparison to cow whipped cream, or goat whipped cream (Mmmmm *suddenly mind soaked*), but I have topped it with berries and granola now. You deserve this in your mouth, and I couldn’t just let you leave that cream in the fridge. Cream is meant to be on your lips or inside you.

Whipped Coconut Cream and Berries Hardened by Granola

Whipped Coconut Crea

Raspberries (or any other berry)

Granola Crumbles from All Day I Dream About Food  Cherry Granola Bars

(I did mint instead of cherries and it was delicious)

(or any low carb or paleo granola you desire)

Optionally Added: Hemp Seeds, Chia Seeds, Cocoa Powder, Erythitrol (for keto),Coconut Sugar (for Paleo)

Directions:

  1. Let the coconut cream get warm. If you’ve left it in the fridge it needs some calming down time, as my mouth discovered.
  2. Top with berries and granola bits. The frozen ones defrost very quickly and it allows you to get incredible berries even if you live in the Lubbock desert. I use Cascadian Farms sometimes. I found a better brand but I’m not at home and Google didn’t find it.
  3. Add whatever else your mouth desires.

Almond Butter Leek

Minirant: Skip if You just Desire Food 😉

Yesterday I was all silly and peeved at someone calling paleo a diet and not a lifestyle. I let bubbles of rage in past moments turn to boiling and let it all spew out. I didn’t even catch enough to make tea with.

Some days it is hard to calm down and realize food isn’t everything. Wow it was even hard to type those words out. Yet, food is just food. It should never have been changed from how beautiful and loved it was. It has turned to a demon and angel to people and I really wish it could just be food again.

When you fight for something you wind up getting hurt. Right now there is a war on food and it causes a lot of pain for people. I see people who are obese or have IBS or have mental disorders and see how much of it can be from a bad relationship with food. People have eating disorders due to not only society but due to the addiction they face from sugar and bad foods. I’m not just speculating on that one either. I go and ask them all the time. So many people actually want to figure out what is happening to them and how they can fix it.

The Taste

So back to the recipe. I was frustrated and needed bitter. Bitter foods give me the most mental uplifts. Then I wanted chaos in tiny form so I poured almond butter into the leak. Oh. My. Noms. Remember celery and peanut butter? Yeah this is better. This is the charred aged version of your childhood. Consume with whiskey or wine.

Almond Butter Leek:

Almond Butter Leak

Ingredients:

2 Leeks

Enough almond butter to fill the slits with (I used Trader Joe’s Raw Almond Butter, so melty and mindgasming)

Butter or oil, enough to coat the leeks with

Directions:

1)Cut the leeks down their center but not all the way through.

2) Turn your cast iron to medium low heat and place the leeks in.

3) Slather in either oil or butter. Try both at some point as they lend different flavor profiles.

4) Cook out the bitterness for about fifteen minutes and then take a bite to see if they’re ready. I like some bitter to remain. Turn the heat to high and char both sides.

5) Remove from cast iron.

6) Take a fork or spoon or some almond butter carrying utensil and pour the butter into the open leak

7) Consume by peeling off back leaf first and working your way. If it gets to bitter then return to cast iron and heat out the bitter again.

The Traveling Fat Bombs

IMG_20150801_222413 (1)

Have you ever done the deed? Have you ever cheated?

I know that cinnamon roll was tempting you. It called out your name and offered sweet pleasure. It just begged to be inside you.
That Starbucks frappacinno was dripping for you and she doesn’t get wet for just anyone.
That potato was even hard for you. How could you not let something so hard, just for you, inside you?

Don’t worry I have the solution and it is even more delicious. Traveling healthyfat fatbombs. They’re dripping with coffee and hardened by oils. Lick them and taste delicious extracts. They even last for days and can be fully enjoyed for just one if you desire. Then store them away until you want them again.

The largest cheating epidemic we face in keto/paleo/primal land is when we travel. When you get hungry those inhibitions flounder and there is rarely a kombucha or bulletproof coffee stream nearby. On keto you can go for lettuce wraps at fast food joins but in paleo land we avoid fast food at all 99 cents costs. There is way too much nonflower-raised, fake nutrients, in those joints. Every time I try to go for fast food now I get sick and then hungry again five minutes later. I really miss you In-N-Out. I never wanted it to be this way. Our love was meant to be forever. Torchy’s bowls and Chipotle still give mouthgasms every time.

Traveling Keto/Paleo Friendly Foods:

Boiled Eggs: Last two days

Baked Eggs: Alton Brown recipe here. Makes 12 perfect eggs or more.

Grassfed Jerky: Noms

Kale: Lasts two days

Spinach: Lasts the car ride

Nut Butters: Woot

Coconut Butter: Infinite mouth lasting time

Ghee: Delicious healthy fat that also lasts a long time

Coconut Oil: Another delicious healthy fat you can just scoop out and consume

Canned Fish: Quality matters

Canned Meats in General: Go for organic to maintain paleo

Nuts: Same as nut butters

Broccoli/Cauliflower/Radishes: Last four days. For mndgasming.

Paleo Exclusive: Potatoes/Other Root Veggies: Last many days and if you’re a beast can be eaten raw

The Traveling Fat Bombs

What I prefer to do is mix my fats together into a travel friendly jar. These jars don’t have any refrigeration necessary items so they’ve lasted me up to months in the cupboard. I usually keep them in the fridge until travel time just in case though. In the car they’ve been heated in Texas sun and are still delicious the next day. I enjoy most edibles and liquids at varying temperatures though so your mouth might have to adapt in ways mine already loves.

You don’t necessarily need fat bombs on your keto or paleo journey but if you’re in keto you need to get your energy from fats. If you’re into paleo then by now you have most likely embraced fats in all their satisfying glory as well. These bombs don’t have to be for travel and can just be scooped and nommed at any point of the day. I generally have a bomb before work to avoid cheating. There’s loaded fries at work.

Basic Recipe:

1 Cup Nut Butter, 1/2 Cup Coconut Butter or Oil, 1/4 Cup Liquid, Teaspoon of Extract. Process and make bombs or put in jar.

Optional Add Ins: Coconut Flakes, whole nuts, various things I can’t think of right now

For this Recipe:

I combined coffee and peanut butter, a deep mouth love of mine. I highly recommend mating the two at some point in your life. You also get your caffeine in while traveling.

Ingredients:

Travel Ingredients

1/2 Cup Homemade Brazilian Nut Butter (Recipe here)

1/2 Cup Trader Joe’s Raw Almond Butter

1/4 Cup Coffee (Quality matters, flavor comes through. I used a French Pressed one)

1 Teaspoon Neilsen Massey Bourbon Vanilla Extract (Quality/Flavor comes through)

Directions:

Put all ingredients in a food processor and pulse to combine.

Store in same jar you took the nut butter from or turn into mustaches.

Paleo/Primal/Keto Explained

To Gain Control Over Your Body and Mind

Let me first scare you by letting you know companies made the food pyramid. Here’s a great article on it.

So you might have mind wonders about what these different diets are. Here is the thing most of us don’t like about it even being called a diet. These are lifestyles. We try them, fall madly into love bubbles and want to float away forever. We don’t want to be the new lackers of marriage binding. We are committed and this is not a fling.

Paleo is fully centered around getting back to our primal roots/what our ancestors ate. If all other animals know what to eat then at some point so did we, naturally. Then companies decided to mess with your brain, and taste buds to the point your body no longer knows. This is…a horror I can barely type out it angers me so much. Yet, it is also our fault for allowing it. I used to knock back three energy drinks a day with sour patch kids inside. When that wasn’t enough I dipped sugar cubes into icing. Allowance was a bad idea for us. Then my twin and I both developed ADHD, OCD, and depression. These things have all been cured for me as I follow this lifestyle.

It even makes sense. When your body is deprived of nutrients, and then even gets poison to function on (processed) it glitches. Our minds don’t connect to life properly. You can look into studies about the gut flora and memory or the gut brain, but really you just need to analyze yourself and the way these things feel in your body.

Then analyze how you feel when you eat the right thing. That’s the whole point of me having recipes here at all. Mindproved and bodyproved by me.

Back to the lifestyles though.

You basically no longer care about the inner aisles of a store with processed moments but instead stick to the outside.

You go for the vegetables, the meats, the creams and the eggs. When first switching what you put inside you most will have you get off of dairy for thirty days first. This is not punishment. It is to see if you have an adversity to cheese/dairy within you. After thirty days you try it and see if you can handle. I, personally, never forsook dairy, but I refused for it to harm me. This is following the mentality of keto though, and not paleo. Strict paleo does not allow for dairy as our ancestors most likely did not consume it and around sixty percent of humans are lactose intolerant.

You might think this is hard or expensive but eating organic is actually cheaper than fast food. I’ve calculated the costs before and it honestly just makes sense. Companies aren’t going to be taking the cost onto themselves of the paper/people required to run their business. Those costs turn to you and your body. Also, when I was trying fast food for my experiment I often found that it just made me more hungry. Your body isn’t getting actual nutrients from it and thus still signals that it needs them/causes the feeling of hunger.

The Paleo/Primal is a wonderful lifestyle that embraces nature and delves into going organic, local and avoiding processed/fast food.

You do have to give up pasta, grains, bread and all the foods that are just fillers anyway. We have substitutes for all of these and all of them are better.

It does take forsaking your childhood to become an adult and to become fully human.

Keto

The real difference between paleo and keto is the carbs.

The idea is that our ancestors didn’t have unlimited access to fruits or root vegetables.

The paleo diet allows for root vegetables as well as honey and fruit. Now this is where most people shudder at the idea of a keto diet. I did at first. I think I cried into the bowls of a cantaloupe. Eventually though my body adapted and I no longer crave fruit or even like more than a bite. It is far too sweet now. Also, I used to make potatoes every day with pecans and cinnamon and wine. I  no longer want those either. There are better vegetables, fresh ones, that can get you the texture of potatoes but with better flavors.

Your body can run on two different energy sources. It can run on sugar/carbs or it can run on fats. Fats got a bad rap when companies banned together and created the food pyramid. There is a primitive culture that eats organ meat and throws the muscle to the dog. I feel that way now that I’ve embraced fats and organ meats. My body rejects that lean ick.

The low-fat movement wound up lacing our foods in sugar. A drug. We have to accept it is a drug. We get cravings for it, have withdraws from it and it alters our minds. I was so addicted to it, but if I can recover from my main energy source being sugar for years you can do it too. I’ll even guide you. Low-fat anything, especially yogurt, had to be covered up by sugar because companies knew that once you tried their nutrient deprived ick food the movement would be rejected. Instead, they addicted you to it

Be angry about this.

Then. Embrace Fats and Bacon.

Think about how much you love bacon. Remember how much you love butter, oils and coconut. Our bodies love fats. That isn’t some coincidence of the mind. Our bodies do know what they need and they let your mind know it too. Fats are gorgeous and glorious and we need to get back to them. In fact, keto is used for weight loss most of the time. Your body is not meant to be fat and once you get back to nature and embrace what it contains you turn into the human nature intends you to be.

Once your body starts getting the nutrients it needs you truly feels full. It is an incredible feeling laced in control. Food even tastes better as your body and mind both want it together. It has been the only way I have gained control of my mind and body. Then, when you no longer need food it tastes bland and you stop craving it.

There are plenty of great resources for starting the keto diet and I am not one of them just yet. Craig is where I started and he can guide you as well. Then you’ll want to form a community on Instagram and join Reddit for that community as well.Reddit.com/r/keto was my haven for my first year of it.

For more information on the paleo/primal lifestyle I recommend Mark.

Finally if you want to embrace both, as this blog does, refer to my shining beauty of a mindbliss mentor, Maria.
