Top Five Real Life Reasons I Eat Low Carb and Paleo

Fuck

I’ve finally gotten past the cult mind of keto.

Oh how that mind led into crazy thoughts of fear rebounds.

I categorized everything that wasn’t low carb as unable to enter me and not meant for human consumption.

I even thought that the only natural diet is keto since humans used to eat mostly organ meat and there were two men in New York that only ate organ meat for years and were incredibly healthy. More on those studies later. Why to Eat Organ Meat will need to be a dedication post to organ meat’s delicious body fondling

Carbs are no longer demonized in my brain. Plenty of cultures thrive on them. The combination is where the mind gets confuzzled over how to function.

From my self study in The Box of Chocolates Experiment, where I ate fast food for a week, vegan for a week, vegetarian for a week, paleo for a week and then finally low carb and paleo, I learned to not fear food anymore.

Through this self experimentation my brain and body learned that low carb is truly the lifestyle for my body. No other lifestyle makes me feel vividly in control of food and mind.

The paleo combo basically means I go for foods that are closest to what we think the human body naturally desires This seems to be ancestral and location dependent, but I think it might revolve around what mummy ate while you were in the womb. A seasonal diet of fats in the summer and roots in the winter would also make more intuitive sense than doing either year round. Oh nutrition research 😉 Eventuallly I hope to create a diet equation that takes in the availability of food possibilities, based on your current location and time of year, and create a daily diet just by having an ap on your phone.

I recently  cut out nuts due to their phytic acid preventing nutrient absorption. I self tested and realized they do inflame me, no matter how much I tell my body to love them 😦 .It still convinces me into almond milk lattes sometime. Mostly because favored coffee shops don’t carry coconut milk.

I just use coconut butter now instead of nuts, and it tastes even more mouthgasmingly delicious, especially if you toss in half a vanilla bean. You don’t even have to scrape it.

I also avoid dairy since it keeps causing bloating/gas unless I get it local and not pastured. Most of the time getting unpastuerized dairy is too hard. Kalona SuperNatural is my go to brand if I’m craving that dairy inside me

My Top Five Reasons for Following the Keto and Paleo Lifestyle

 1.  My Mind and Body Have Full Control Over Food and Themselves.

I spent many years of life addicted to sugar and did not even know it. So much hunger would ravage my being every three hours and want to bite all my friends until they gave me food. Cupcakes got to fill my life though so I had that going for me, which was nice.

This body was simply ravished and out of control of itself in its nutrient deprived state. Sadly, sugar blocks nutrient absorption.

The moment I have sugar these days I’ll wind up overeating and constantly thinking of that sugar goodie. Ask my family about when they convinced me into eating one donut and I had to sneak the bag into the bathroom that night because I couldn’t stop thinking of them. A picture was taken for my other blog/in order to help out others who think sugar addiction is their fault.

Donuts

The brain switches to hibernation needs and wants you to store food. Hibernation preparation 😉

Wicked Sing a long Pic

Many humans  adapt, just like we can to any other drug, but when you get off sugar you lose those adaptations and it becomes intense when you put that drug inside you.

I finally have no out of control cravings for food. Even if this body switches out of keto for a few days it winds up over eating and thinking of food all hours of the day.

While in ketosis I barely think of food throughout the day and when I do there’s still full control. It’s even easy to eat once a day and highly preferable.

Haha this post is getting so long it’s like a love letter.

The meat or the veggie or the fat can even be switched with no fear. I used to fear not having cupcakes in the cabinet or being deprived of sour patch kids in my backpack. Energy drinks were especially hard to be without. I’d try and pull them from the clouds. It’s so nice to not be paying for addiction anymore. Money money money.

I’m also almost off all drugs, including caffeine, alcohol and grassy things. The idea would have horrified me a year ago, but now I enjoy the way my body feels at a complete balance. The process is slow but we’re getting there. Eventually I plan to make detox week meal plans for each to help out my fellow species that also knows of drug boxes. We can barely socialize without them 😉

  2. No More Mental Illnesses!

Those words used to make me cower at the possibility of telling other humans something so crazy. Pshh. Mental disorders are from abuse they say. As a human that tried for years to cure my ADHD, OCD, anxiety, suicidal thoughts, dissociation and a general disconnect to life without any food change, I can now tell you how crucial having nutrients is. Without them your body simply cannot connect to life. This includes memory and love and learning and all the things we believe humans just have.

Hell, I even did a 45 day study tracking 65 pieces of mental data to prove it. Mwahahah. Proof. I would have needed it if someone dared to say they could cure the blissfuck demon in my head.

My demon shoo.

When you detox from the foods that are causing your pain, and then get back on them, you can finally tell where all that mind bullox was coming from. Seriously though, I have a Reese’s and want to rip the skin from the faces around me and watch the blood pour out. Every time. I wish I was kidding. A fifth of my life goals revolve around sticking myself in a room with nothing but  me and a journal. I eat just organ meat for two weeks and they put me in a machine each day. Then they give me McDonald’s for a week and watch my brain again. I have no doubt I can prove mental disorders are from toxins in food or whatever all else is in the foods that mentally disordered minds.

I also enjoy just being alone. Solitude doesn’t give an awareness of pain. The pain is gone.

I used to have autofear any moment I was left alone with this mind. There would be impulses to play games, talk or get online. The anxiety at being around other humans was also fierce. Now I can sit in a room with just me or sit outside for hours and there’s no fear. I actually enjoy the solitude of my innards. That feeling just started happening in the last six months. All the years before this just held so much fear in every silence. Cleansing that fear is a demon on steroids, but it can be done if you’re willing to access every part of that fear and adapt to it. Your mind needs the right nutrients to be able to adapt with. No worries lovers. There is organ meat.

  3. All of My  Food Dollars go to the Highest Nutrients They can Buy

I’m a just out of college kid that’s in the American economy. In college I learned to budget when it came to food. This was a new feat after growing up with loving and rich parents. Mmmm sheltered life was amazing. Learning how to survive is even better. When choosing between rent and food there’s a lot of dollar menu nomming.

When first starting keto and paleo I feared losing all the fluffy baked goods, the nuts, the fruits and the bread. From this fear  I splurged out on coconut butter, hemp seeds, gut biome supplements and high quality almond butters.

Yeah…I was spending all of my extra money on food and didn’t even care because it made me feel so good and it blissed me into excitement bubbles. I’ve popped most of them and now I don’t really buy anything that isn’t fresh. No more overpriced jars when you can make your own coconut butter. On the last run I added juniper berries to make it taste like gin. Oh my god we can be friends just so you can come over and try it. Om noms.

I get organ meat from a local butcher and veggies from the farmer’s market. I do get avocado oil and Kerrygold butter as splurges if I’m not just using the bacon’s grease. I just accepted that my body doesn’t like pork though, so I’ll have to switch to turkey bacon. It actually tastes better to this mouth, which double means I should be eating it instead. Taste really does center around what nutrients your body has adapted to. That’s why foods that were once bitter to you now taste like amazeballs soaked in whiskey..or gin. Depends on your mouth adaptations 😉  I won’t concede to the idea of white wine. That’s just wrong. Change your mouth.

….dry is okay.

4. Everything I Put in Me Tastes Blissfucking Delicious.

My mouth is getting so picky now. I cut back on all spices because I feared them hurting my brain from any toxins I didn’t know in them. Organic ones are expensive. I also keep killing all the herb plants that come into my care. Deathcare moreso.  So for the last months I’ve just been eating eggs, meat, butter, and veggies with only salt. I don’t even like pepper anymore. Makes me cough.

They all taste so good now though! All the delicious flavors of them get to come fully through to the point you don’t want anything else in your mouth. I’ll even try to combine the meat and egg in one bite and my mouth is like nah man, one at a time.

I get mouthexcitement from dried herbs in tea or my personal kombucha. Vanilla kombucha is mouthgasming delicious. I’ll share a recipe soon. Oh and if I can find fresh herbs those are very mouthloved, they’re just too expensive now that it’s winter.

Oh and extract water:

IMG_20150712_092421

So now I can taste every ingredient incredibly well and it is amazing. Food has never tasted so good now that my mouth fully understands the meat, veggie, or spice inside it. An egg with just salt is all I want in life, and some oxtail. Right now I’m in Marfa though and can’t get organ meat…it’s really hard to not have it actually. My body calls out for it like the animal it is.

5. So Skinny. All the Time.

If I go high carb for even three days I lose my 105 pound goddess body. I know high carb works for some bodies, but this one just rejects it. My mind also slows down and instead of the 6-7.5 hours of sleep I need on keto I wind up sleeping for 8-9 hours. I’ll just stick to keto 😉

I also barely exercise. I do yoga about three times a week and go for twentyish minute walks a day. That’s it.

Raw Eating

This ‘diet’ is totally for life 😉

Enjoy life and everything you put in it.

Low Carb and Paleo Heirloom Marinara Sauce

This sauce is incredibly adaptive and could even evolve into a new veggie of mouthgasms. Watermelon marinara anyone? I kid, too much sugar. I’ve made it without the onion, with cardamon seeds, with and without fresh herbs and every time it is deep earth inside your mouth. To my mouth at least. Admittedly mine is different from yours, but I do have a twin so the likelihood of my mouth being exactly like another human’s is pretty high.

She still eats packaged things and even had fast food yesterday though.

Her mouth may have evolved past mine, but I can taste the sweetness lurking in little Brussels’s leaves so mwahaha.

It isn’t killing me inside….except for all of the little Bing Bongs I didn’t notice. (Inside Out reference).

Hmm

The heirloom tomatoes are not necessary for this recipe, but they do add a complexity and variance to the recipe that I fully enjoy. You could use a can of tomatoes or other tomatoes, but you want the amount of fresh tomatoes to equal about a can of tomatoes. This recipe is easily halved as I’ve confirmed many times now. Half takes a whole spaghetti squash and 3/4 of the recipe can coat a pizza.

Ingredients You Need:

2 Cloves of Minced Garlic

1 Small Yellow Onion or Half of a Large One (red or green also works, yellow and green have the lowest carbs, chart here)

1.5 T Olive Oil or Avocado Oil

5-7 Heirloom Tomatoes Chopped or in 8ths

Bay Leaf

1 T Whole Coriander Seeds (optional, adds earthy notes)

Dash of sal

Fresh Herbs (thyme, basil, rosemary, etc.) Optional

Fresh Made Spaghetti Squash to Serve Over (recipe here)

Wok or High Sided Sauce Pan (Wok gives out ninja feels)

To Create:

  1. Warm the olive oil over medium high heat and add the onions. Let the onions turn translucent (about five minutes) and stir or press in the garlic. Wait for the smell to seep into your nose (about 30 seconds).
  2. Add the tomatoes into the pan. You’ll want to squish them into the pan with your hands, but don’t worry if not all of the juice releases, sometimes they need to be warmed before full squishing can happen.
  3. Add your bay leaf, salt, cardamon and fresh herbs into the tomatoes. Basil comes very quickly so wait until the end to add it, if using.
  4. Resquish the tomatoes with a fork or the back of a spatula now that they have warmed. If they’re still unsquishable you can wait until the last ten minutes, but you want the juices to simmer out into the sauce (in order to become sauce).
  5. Let simmer for 20 minutes after bringing to a tiny boil/rapid simmering.
  6. Make the spaghetti squash to pour the sauce over.
  7. Halfway scrape spaghetti strings of spaghetti squash then pour the marinara into it. If you’re eating for one only use 1/4 of the marinara in half of the spaghetti squash and save the rest.
  8. Use the squash as a bowl and continue making spaghetti out of it. Do not eat the bowl

How to: Make Spaghetti Squash

30 Minutes Spagetti Squash

I have some memories of pasta on cold nights of childhood.

Meatballs and sauce soaking long noodles that I struggled to look proper with. My pinkie did not stay up (did you know that originated as a level of drunkenness test?). I remember loving the meatballs the most and being sure to beg father for extras. Otherwise, in pasta food memories, I would order at an Italian restaurant, and that meant pasta. I bet they’d have a pasta dessert if they could.

Angel hair baked in lemon surrounding a toffee chocolate ball anyone?

Chicken Alfredo was my favored pasta dish. Once I left the nest I only feasted on 30 second macaroni bowls, the Kraft ones. I loved those more than the grass water I used to boil. Yeah…I’m that much of a fairy and loved grass. One day I went outside and picked some, boiled it, and drank. I remember that so vividly. It was so liquidgasming.

Fresh, and like drinking the smell of mowed grass.

I found pasta annoying otherwise, except for Ramen. The weight and mental issues I gained in college make so much sense when I see them typed out on this screen. The Ramen was totally made healthier with chunks of celery and carrots though 😉 .  Ever since going low carb high fat pasta and rice have been mouth banned, and never really missed. They’re just fillers and bacon and butter fill you more. Then one night, at some point in the past, I tried Spaghetti Squash. It was odd but I became ravenous for it and started eating it all the time. This was mostly because I was the only one eating keto and my lover didn’t want it so it entered me often. A full squash makes about four meals. I stored half in the fridge and it lasted for a week. The taste was changed everyday. One day it would have marinara on it one day, lemon pepper the next day, cheddar cheese with Italian spices, and finally a chocolate cinnamon with berries. That one is magical.

All vegetables are basically incredibly nutritious for us, especially those found above the ground. Embrace the caveside.

(The brologic being since our ancestors had access to it then it is most likely what we are meant to eat)

Foods naturally accessible to us just work because no matter how much we try to disconnect from this earth we still need it to survive. Just one night try spaghetti squash over your pasta and see if you can feel and taste the way your body takes it in. Feel the difference.

Away from bro logic it is way easier and more delicious to reheat than noodles. I’ve used both cast iron and flames as well as microwave and both reheat it to the same texture.

 Spaghetti Parts

Buy or Grow a Spaghetti Squash (local farmer’s markets have these right now too, go interact with your food maker)

Locate 2 T of Oil (Look for dark bottled EVOO that has been cold pressed)

Large Glass Baking Dish

Oven

To Create Spaghetti

  1. Preheat the oven to 375 Degrees.
  2. Cut the Spaghetti Squash in Half (Spaghetti squash are very hard and need extra muscle power. Activate beast mode for this part). I leave the stem on to use as a  grip.
  3. StabScoop out the innards with your hands and put them aside. Take a low quality picture and turn the picture into a painting and hope no one notices. You can roast the seeds or just eat them raw. You can also eat the innards
  4. Remove the InnardsDrizzle the squash in oil and then rub that wet goodness all over its insides.
  5. Dripping OilPut the squash face side down in a baking dish (or on top of a baking pan) and put the whole thing in the oven.
  6. Glass TimeLet it spaghetti up for 30-35 minutes. (If you forget about it, like me, put it in the fridge for about an hour otherwise it is too soft to perform).
  7. Fork it/scrape prongs across the insides until they turn to spaghetti.
  8. ForkingLeave the spaghetti in and use the shell as a bowl or store for up to a week in the fridge.

Faster by the Dozen: Baked Eggs

IMG_20150703_200754

Baked eggs have a special little spot in my fridge that constantly gets refilled.

Admittedly that spot changes all of the time because I share the fridge with three other people so items move as fast as the Jews. I am one by blood so I can mock this.

Every time I feel lacking in nutrients or a deep hunger craving hits I can just take one out, salt it/paprika it and then pop it right inside me. They also can be blissfucked into an egg salad or stuffed into a raw avocado. They’re especially great when you get tipsy and all food, even Taco Bell food, suddenly seems appealing.

Those mind barriers dropping. I swear I could help ADHD drop those horrid procrastinating fears by convincing society to let us be drunk all the time. I’ll even swear on dark raspberry chocolate laced in broccoli (cuz who cares if that dies?)

Eating a baked egg gives you one of those life moments where you have to remember back to your past self and shake your head with little glares. How have I not been baking a dozen perfect eggs into my mouth for so many years (or minutes depending on your age of course…what? We have baby robots by now somewhere)?

Admittedly I’ve still had the white stick to the shell in about a 15thish of the eggs I’ve peeled. Those moments are still far more rare than my boiling egg days.

What will truly have you leaving boiling eggs to the friend zone is that baking eggs is far less timely and you are brought to full completion far more often. I mean the eggs are.

Eggs are that food everyone agrees is healthy, almost. It is closer than the agreement about all other foods so let’s just count it.

It turns out the yolks actually have the most nutrients though, so please don’t just eat the whites. If you are that odd then please send me the yolks and I’ll send some calorie free water to you in compensation.

Baked Eggs Necessities:

A Cupcake/Muffin Pan

Eggs (I trust Happy Egg Co and my farmer’s market for delicious mouth and mind eggs)

An Oven

For the Love of Baked Eggs:

  1. Turn your oven to 320 degrees
  2. Wait for your oven to reach 320 degrees
  3. Put your eggs into a cupcake or muffin tin (however many you want) and put them into the oven.
  4. TinsGo play an ARAM for 30 minutes, or read a book. (Let the eggs bake for 30 minutes, but at 26 minutes prepare an ice bath)
  5. Take eggs out of the oven and use tongs
  6. Tongsto immediately put the eggs into an ice bath. Turn them into a painting at this point.
  7. Ice bathWait until cool enough to handle and transfer to fridge. You can peel them now and store but I like to keep them in the shell for self pleasure and it makes me feel like they last longer.

How to: Travel like a Healthy Human

I‘ve now been on a real food low carb eating lifestyle for two years now (mostly). My body and mind now know what it feels like to cheat and react with sickening stomach quakes or mental ick fields of muddled connections. I’m on these lifestyles to combat mental illnesses that I’ve struggled with ever since I was twelve and downed three energy drinks laced with sour patch kids every day. When that high no longer got me going I dipped sugar cubes into icing.

Maybe I’m preset to get those illnesses or maybe they’re from those mind altering chemicals.

I had the energy drinks/various sugar highs when my brain was developing, and maybe it developed with them to the point it glitched. The ADHD, OCD, anxiety, and suicidal thoughts all leave when I go at least three days without cheating, and I continue to not connect to those mental disorders as long as I don’t cheat.

I mostly stick to my diet when on vacation through my traveling fat bombs or just by finding my own foods.

At a cafe I got an omelette and my twin got french toast with peanut butter bacon and bananas.

vy0apj8

Yesterday I cheated because there were caramels coated in chocolate with salt dredgings.

I love those things. Despite my mind saying those things will hurt my body didn’t listen. My mind gave in to just one. Then two and then three. Then I drank some Kahlua white russian with a side of wine.

This pain seared right behind my ears. This used to happen all the time before I went on keto/paleo and if I don’t cheat it goes away. I’ve linked it to being too much sugar and especially too much wine. My twin, Abbey, still deals with the pain, in the same spot, on occasion.

My OCD tinkered last night and I could not stop arranging the cars in our Magic game to line up with the tiles on the table. I couldn’t untrap those connections. I could not connect away/think of anything else but making the lines on the cards line up with the other lines. Consuming consumption. I was even aware of what was happening and was unable to control it.

This morning I was still pretty trapped and had to find a way to release that entrapment of connections.

I have an identical twin that still struggles with all of these things and continues to eat grains and processed foods. Grr.

This morning I just wanted to feel sane and in control again. I resorted to an offbeat of my dandelion greens salad.

For the Salad:

Dandelion Greens

Lemon

Cucumber (optional)

Salt

Pepper

Very Dark Chocolate

Directions:

Turn into salad. Yes eat the peel and pulp, ultimate mind tingles.

Another item that really helps prevent cheating is a liquid carrier. This bottle is my bliss.

I go on no physical ventures without this dripping beauty wetting my sprog and body. Ever since I drank from the crisp inner wells the desire has never left and never has that taste faltered no matter what goes in it.

S'Well

I generally do water with extracts (guide to come) or tea or coffee. All without sugar.

Random Professional Human Tips:

  1. Carry around a bottle of oil (coconut, various). If coconut pour add to coffee, others add to salads or whatever your mind body desires.
  2. Bring mind food for road trips: kale, spinach, chard, green things.
  3. Drink a ton of water.
  4. Bring extracts.
  5. Bring tobacco if you like it.
  6. Learn drinks you can have at any bar. I do a gin and soda water with lime.
